Moon Rocks Falling

     I'm continuing with the hand sewing project from the on-line class with Jude Hill on the Spirit Cloth website. I've sewn a bit of prose using a split stem stitch and added roots to the tree symbol. After I took this photo, I started to embroider a river. The river is going to wind around the quilt from rock to rock. So here's an update.

In between planning the next steps for this project, I've made two more wheelchair covers. I'll post those photos on a future post. And I'm working on an iPad cover. I may never post a photo of that. I'm not too talented with functional items.

    The tree is just perfect. Love the background fabric too. For your iPad cover try Soft and Stable for batting. It's fantastic. I have used it for stuff like that. It's from By Annie.

      Thanks. I got that small swatch of tree fabric in a fabric swap. It's a gem. I like to overlap designs with thread.

    It's so charming. I love a hand stitched project. There is such connection. The prose is absolutely lovely. Did you write it? It is really touching. I love words on art.

      Yes, I wrote that. I've never used prose like that in my art before. This piece seemed to call for that.

      I dyed this fabric in a workshop years ago. For my quilts now, I monoprint with paint and GAC 900.

      Thank you, Nadia. I like that my prose is turning it into a story cloth, which I've never done before. That's part of the Spirit Cloth lesson. I'm so glad I found that website.
