Hi Everyone,
Today is a Blog Hop Party. Many blogs are giving away things today. I'm giving away a Christmas quilted pin that I made. To get it, all you have to do is read a few of my older posts, come back to this one and make a comment about what you saw in my older posts. Then link to the address I've connected to visit more blogs with giveaways. On March 14th in the evening, I'll randomly choose someone from this comment list and send them the pin. Make sure to leave your email so I can contact you. So READ, COMMENT, and LINK.http://quiltinggallery.com/quilters-fun/quilters-blog-hop-party/
NOTE: I've been reading the other offers from other bloggers in this Blog Hop Party and I've seen that their giveaways are pretty extensive. So I decided to offer a fat quarter of a batik fabric in addition to the Christmas pin. Tell me your favorite color and if you win, I'll make a run to my local quilt shop and pick out a nice batik for you.
Happy Friday.
Regina
Hi Regina, I have been following your work through the SaqaVP project. Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteWell, I looked at several posts and discovered you seem to work with soft muted colors quite a bit, and I also enjoyed the post about dyeing the perle cotton with Inktense pencils (great idea BTW).
ReplyDeleteYou have some neat art quilts. I looked at a few of your older posts. Your style is much different from mine which makes your blog all the more interesting to me to follow as I want to learn new styles of quilting. Thanks for chance to win.

DeleteI did some snooping and enjoyed reading your posts on floppy discs and inktense. You're so creative!!! I never would have thought to use a floppy as a stabilizer for a coaster or to dye some thread with inktense. I've signed on as an email follower and look forward to reading future posts. Thanks for the delightful visit and thanks sew much for the chance to win. :-D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting a new sewing room. We plan to add onto our house & then I'll have my own sewing room also. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteWow. Coloring thread? Painting fabric? Gelatin? You are in an entirely different quilting world than I am, but it sure looks fun! (I like purple, btw)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the coasters from floppies. I have plenty of them!! And the watermark for photos was and excellent point.
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance of the giveaway .... I really like blues.
Oh, and i LOVE the beach panels on your blog header. Do you have any more details about it?
Hi Regina I went back and read your posts on gelatin printing as it's something I'd like to try!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I'm amazed by the creativity you put into your work. I've never heard of most of what you use, very interesting. I love the prayer flags, the concept is beautiful, and so well portrayed in your quilt. Have you seen the Prayer Flag Project in BC?
ReplyDeleteany color will be fine thanks
ReplyDeletelove daydreaming!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you created your sphere from your wiping rag! I love bright green right noe!
ReplyDeleteI am not an artist, so your post on the Inktense pencils intrigued me. Thanks for sharing and for the opportunity on your draw.

I think you're right on the prayer quilt...the monk doesn't seem to fit in quite right. I like the idea of prayer flags though!

ReplyDeletetake a look at the website for Studio Art Quilts Associates. It is a very helpful organization to join if you make art quilts. http://www.saqa.com
DeleteI, too, checked out your impressive gallery of work. Your landscape pieces are my favorite...beautiful work. I have just dabbled in art quilts, but they always impress me.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is green.
I could learn a lot from you about dyeing fabrics. Your fabrics that were done using gelatin monoprinting look very very interesting.

OK. You are the first quilter on this blog hop that is really an artist I started at the bottom of the list and am working my way up. I love the 'Rail Fence" that isn't a rail fence. ASnd the swirl quilting at the bottom of the auction quilt make me think of seagulls at the beach, and the waves in the water.
ReplyDeleteI love all colors of fabrics. And I use black a lot.
DeleteI saw how you made your own color thread which is such a great idea. Often I am embroidering and they call for a color I don't have and it is only for a small section. I will have to look for those water color pencils. Can you get them in the craft stores?
ReplyDeleteI've seen them in craft stores, but I got them online from amazon. You could also use fabric paints and then heat set them.
DeleteI've browsed around & enjoyed your blog about found objects. I think it's a great idea to incorporate them into your work. Your works are really quite something. What a talent!
ReplyDeleteI love how you repurposed floppies into coasters. I'm going to have to try that! Thanks for a chance to win! :)
ReplyDeleteForgot to say my favorite color - it is aqua/teal - a medium shade. :)
DeleteSehr schöne Seite und eine tolle Verlosung...Ich mag Beerentöne sehr gerne
ReplyDeleteGrüße aus Deutschland

I checked out the addition under studio and it looked like a fabulous addition...lucky you! My favorite color is yellow.
ReplyDeleteI love the prayer flag quilt. I wouldn't change a thing on it :) I have such respect for those going through any type of renovation. We have been removing paneling from an workshop room to make it a sewing room. It's become a bit of pandora's box, but the construction dust that gets stirred up is amazing. Hope you can enjoy your open space soon! My favorite color is brown, and tans...color of coffee and chocolate :)
